9/11 National Day of
Service and Remembrance
On the anniversary of the 9/11
attacks, millions of Americans have the opportunity to unite in service and
remembrance in their communities. The 9/11 National Day of Service and
Remembrance effort provides a positive way to remember and pay tribute to
the 9/11 victims, survivors, and to honor those that rose in service in
response to the attacks.
This year, the Department of
Community Services, Elderly Affairs Division (EAD) RSVP Volunteer Program
will be coordinating the collection of personal care supplies for homebound and
seniors in need. To show our support,
EAD staff will collaborate with RSVP volunteers to collect and distribute these
supplies.
The EAD office will be the
primary collection site of donated items and will begin collection from August 15 to September 9, 2013, located
at 715 South King Street, Suite 211. The
following is a list of personal care supplies which are ideal for collecting:
