The following publications discuss civil rights issues as they relate to various disabilities.

Mainstream Online
Mainstream Online is an online magazine that was created by and for people with disabilities. The publication advocates for the rights of the disabled. The publication is also a resource for information on a variety of topics and issues for those who are disabled.

The Ragged Edge Magazine Online
The Ragged Edge Magazine covers a variety of disability topics, but also acts as a voice for civil rights reform.

Special Child
Special Child is an online publication dealing with issues that face children with disabilities. The Special Child website has a section on legal matters related to the educational rights of children with disabilities.

Ability Magazine
Ability Magazine is an online publication that discusses current disability issues and policies.

Civil Rights Journal
The Civil Rights Journal is a publication that is downloadable using Adobe Acrobat. The journal discusses a variety of civil rights issues including disability rights.

2010 Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program

Voucher booklets worth $50.00 available to seniors 60 years of age or older with a household annual income of less than $23,051 for single person or $31,006 for a couple.  Vouchers are redeemable for locally-grown fruits and vegetables at any City & County People’s Open Market vendors certified for this program (from June – October 31, 2010).  For more information click here.

New System for Determining The Handi-Van Eligibility

The City and County of Honolulu has implemented a new application system for determining eligibility for TheHandi-Van, the City’s paratransit service for people with disabilities who are unable to independently use TheBus.
