All passengers are searched at screener checkpoints with the use of a metal detector. An individual with a disability must undergo the same security screening as any other member of the traveling public. If you are a wheelchair user and unable to walk through the metal detector you will be patted down or searched with the use of a hand-held metal detector. Service animals, assistive devices (e.g., walking canes), and carry on items will be inspected prior to boarding an aircraft. After being inspected, personal wheelchairs and battery-powered scooters may be used to travel to departure gates.
