Growing Stronger: Strength Training for Older Adults
If you're interested in feeling stronger, healthier, and more vital, this strength-training program, developed by experts at Tufts University and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is for you.The National Institute on Aging (NIA) and the National Library of Medicine (NLM) have jointly launched an innovative new talking web site for older people called NIHSeniorHealth.gov. The web site features formats and health topics tailored to the cognitive and visual needs of older adults. NIHSeniorHealth.gov will also have a "talking" function, allowing users the option of reading the text or listening to it as it is read to them. The topics currently on the site include Alzheimer's disease, caregiving, arthritis, balance problems, exercise for older adults, hearing loss, and specific forms cancer.
