Maui Economic Opportunity, Inc. is a nonprofit Community Action Agency committed to helping low income individuals and families become stable and achieve economic security. MEO’s services are constantly changing to meet the needs of children and families, the disabled and medically needy, and the elderly and other low-income individuals. MEO works with more than twenty-five community partners to help people and change lives. All MEO programs are tangible translations of the Promise of Community Action. Services include, but are not limited to: Transportation (including paratransit); Employment Core Services For Low Income Persons (ECSLIP); Persons in Need-60 Plus Program; Senior Employment Services-SCSEP; Senior Legal Services - 60+; BEST Reintegration; Enlace Hispano Program; National Farmworkers Job Program; Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program; Rental Assistance; Weatherization Assistance Program; and MILC - Maui Independent Living Center. Paratransit Helpful Information: This program funded by the County of Maui for person with disabilities who need accessible transportation. To apply for this specialized program, contact MEO Transportation. Reservations may be made during office hours, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., up to 14-days in advance but no later than 3:00 pm the business day prior to pick up time. Medical appointments are a first priority when dropping off passengers and should be made no earlier than one and one-half (1-1/2) hour after the scheduled pickup time.
