Description:
Offers income eligible seniors volunteer opportunities with stipends to serve friends, tutors, mentors, caregivers for children and youth with exceptional needs. Provides 20 hours of weekly service to community organizations. Volunteers receive a modest tax-free stipend, reimbursement for transportation, meals during service, annual physical examinations, and accident and liability insurance while on duty. Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:45 am - 4:30 pm. Eligibility: volunteers must be 60+ and meet income eligibility requirements. Application process: call for appointment. Volunteers assigned after training and criminal history background check. Documentation needed: resident alien card, SS card, ID card. If accepted, volunteer will be sent for physical exam and TB clearance. Drivers license needed if driving to place of assignment.
